"I grew up in Spokane and then attended CWU where I majored in chemistry and general science education. I left Ellensburg and was hired to teach science at Moses Lake High School. I was with my MLHS family for 14 years where I primarily taught physical science and chemistry. I was able to start an AP Chemistry program and also dedicated a lot of time to their AVID program as an elective teacher and coordinator for the high school building. After moving to Stevens County, I accepted a position with SCC at their Colville campus. During this time, I ran the GED and HS Diploma program for the Colville rural Adult Education department.
My husband took a new work position and so we moved ourselves and our 2 daughters to Stevens County last year. Our daughters are also new to the Chewelah schools (6th and 7th grade). We are excited to join the Chewelah team!"

"I am an alumni of Jenkins High School and excited to return home to Chewelah after teaching in Anchorage, Alaska for the last 14 years. I have taught middle school language arts at Kiona-Benton City and taught English and drama at Colville High School. I also taught 6-12 language arts in Anchorage before becoming the Technology Coordinator at one of the largest high schools in Alaska. I developed the middle school Computer Technology curriculum, trained others on how to use Canvas LMS, Google Suite, and am a recognized Common Sense Ambassador advocating for Digital Citizenship and Media Literacy. One of my mantras to students is 'Don’t let the machine drive you; you are ultimately in control of the technology.' "
