Dear Jenkins Students, Families, and Community,
Welcome to Jenkins Jr./Sr. High School. It is an honor to serve as your principal and to join a school and community with such a strong sense of pride, tradition, and connection. I am excited to work alongside our students, staff, families, and community members as we build upon the strengths of Jenkins and create new opportunities for every student.
Before coming to Jenkins, I served as the principal of Lakeside Middle School. Throughout my career, I have worked as a teacher, instructional coach, dean of students, assistant principal, and principal at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. These experiences have given me a broad understanding of student growth and the importance of supporting students at every stage of their education.
I believe students are most successful when they are known personally, challenged academically, and supported by adults who believe in their potential. At Jenkins, we are committed to creating a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment where every student feels valued, respected, and connected to our school community. Student voices are an important part of our work. Students should have meaningful opportunities to share their experiences, ideas, and goals. Listening to students helps us create a school that responds to their needs while preparing them to become leaders within our community.
We will maintain high expectations for learning, attendance, behavior, and personal responsibility while providing students with the support they need to meet those expectations. We will celebrate growth, encourage perseverance, and help students understand that their daily choices play an important role in their future success. A complete school experience also includes opportunities beyond the classroom. Athletics, activities, clubs, leadership, the arts, and community service allow students to develop their talents, build lasting relationships, and strengthen their connection to Jenkins. I encourage every student to become involved, try something new, and contribute positively to our school.
Our purpose extends beyond helping students earn credits and meet graduation requirements. We want students to become thoughtful learners, responsible citizens, effective communicators, and confident young adults. Our goal is to prepare every student for success in college, career training, military service, employment, and wherever life takes them after Jenkins. Together, we can make Jenkins a place where every student feels a sense of belonging, takes pride in their school, and has the opportunity to succeed.
Go Cougars!
