We are moving through the post-season in high school winter sports, and into the last week of junior high boys basketball. Here is the schedule for our athletes and coaches for the coming days.
High School Basketball
Our varsity boys and girls basketball teams continue their District 7 contests this Saturday, 2/12, at West Valley High School. The boys will play Lind-Ritzville-Sprague at 5PM in the Fieldhouse. the girls will play Upper Columbia Academy at 6:30 in the Fieldhouse. Because of their location, these games are not broadcast on the NFHS Network.
High School Wrestling
The boys regional qualifiers travel to Warden on 2/12 for their state qualifying tournament. Our qualifiers are Max Motteshard (106), Ty Crockett (113), Zeke Crockett (160), Clay Jeanneret (170), and River Rainer (182). We had one girl qualify for regionals on 2/12 in Ephrata. Kristen Erickson (120) will compete for a berth to state. Wrestling begins at 10:30 for both tournaments. Spectator pass lists are required for both tournaments. Mat Classic takes place at the Tacoma Dome February 18-19.
Junior High Boys Basketball
Next week is the last week of games for junior high boys basketball. They have had a great season so far. I have seen significant growth in their skills and teamwork over their weeks of play and practice. The teams' home games on Monday, 2/14 will be played at Pein-Lynch Gymnasium due to the recent water event at the old middle school. We will have three games: 6th grade at 4PM, junior varsity at 5PM, and varsity at 6PM. I would also like to thank Mr. Anderson and Mr. Monasmith for officiating all of our home junior high basketball games this year (and for many years!). They provide an exceptional experience for our athletes to grow in their skill and sportsmanship.
The junior varsity and varsity teams will travel to Reardan for their last game on 2/17. The bus loads at 1:30PM.
Thank you for your continue support of Cougar and Raider athletics
