From Shirley Baker, AD:
I am happy to announce the Northeast 2B Season 1 of high school athletics is set to begin on February 10 with Football, and February 15 with Cross Country, Volleyball, and Sideline Cheer. Practices will be conducted for each sport under the state health department mandates applicable to the location the sport takes place - indoors or outdoors - the level of risk - low, moderate, or high - and the current phase of our region.
In accordance with state health department mandates, cloth masks must be worn by all athletes, coaches, officials, and game management personnel during practices and competition. Once contests may have spectators according to the governor's Roadmap to Recovery report, the NE2B League requires all spectators to wear masks.
Athletes must have a current physical on file, all athletic registration forms submitted through the FamilyID portal, and an ASB card purchased before the first contest.
High school season 2 sports - baseball, softball, track & field, tennis, and golf - are scheduled to begin March 29. Season 3 sports - basketball and wrestling - are slated to begin May 10. These dates may be adjusted as time goes on. Middle school sport participation is still under consideration.
Returning Cougar season 1 athletes received an email from me today, prompting them to register for sports participation through the FamilyID portal.
