The Jenkins JR/SR High School community would like to offer our heartfelt condolences to the Ronnei family.
The loss of a community member causes us all to remember the incredible strain, pain and loneliness our neighbors and ourselves might be under under during this time and how important it is to love and care for each other.
We would like everyone to show mindfulness for each other by:
- Looking for signs:
Hopelessness, depression, anxiety,
sleep problems, giving away possessions, alcohol or drug use
- Empathize and Listen:
Be available to listen without judgement
Offer compassion
- Ask directly about Suicide
Asking won’t put the idea in their mind, instead it shows you care
Asking offers them a chance to share their pain
- Remove the danger
Lock up and limit access to medications and firearms
